You can try out most of the features by simply uploading a document from the homepage, no login required. For some of the advanced features you will need to buy an account. The benefits of membership include:
Anonymous upload limits your Word documents to 100K. Account holders can upload 1 MB documents.
Anonymous uploads expire after 6 hours. As an account holder you can have multiple documents in progress that live indefinitely. Keep up to 20 documents around while you're working on them.
When you get all your settings just the way you like, you can save a template for use on other documents. For example, you might have a template called "Email Marketing" which inlines all the style, and one called "Blog Posting" intended for your Wordpress account, and another called "General Website" that you paste into an aspx or rhtml file.
When the copy changes, simply re-upload a new document over the old one. All your settings (even the document-specific ones like link hrefs and automatic style definitions) will be preserved. This is the crux of the MangleBracket workflow — you the web developer never live-edits the copy, you let the Word document be the authoritative version.
